Welcome to the official website of the Prince George PRIDE Society
The Prince George PRIDE Celebrations are the largest Gay PRIDE Celebrations in Northern BC. We organize Northern PRIDE to celebrate, inspire and encourage a strong sense of community for the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Two-Spirited, Intersex, and Queer community as well as their allies to bring our community together in a safe and positive environment.



Pride Prince George Logo Contest


The Prince George Pride Society is launching a contest for the Pride 2010 & 2011 logos.
This contest is open to anyone who is interested.

The logo submission would include three parts:

1. A Prince George Pride 2010 & 2011 (15th Anniversary) Logo

2. A flexible variation of the logo that will allow us to manipulate the image.

3. Incorporation of the rainbow flag colours in the logo. (This does not mean that there has to be an actual rainbow in it, though just include the colors. Choice is yours.)

Optional:
There may be a description or meaning behind the logo, this can be included as part of the submission (be creative).

Rules and guidelines behind the logo creation:

1. The logo must be built in illustrator or in Photoshop (300dpi, at least 11x8.5 inches).

2. Logo may be submitted by an individual, group, or business.

3. Each individual, group, or business may submit up to three separate logos for review.

4. Submissions are due by January 25th 2010 at 6pm (PST), by email to inf@pgpride.com. No late submissions accepted.

5. Submissions for judging are to be sent via email in high quality PDF, JPEG, or other easily readable format on MAC and PC. If we are unable to view the logo, there will be one email sent to notify with 12 hours of receiving the copy. ***corrected copy MUST be received by due date. (January 21th 2010 @ 6PM PST)

6. The Board will decide on top 5 logos from entire collection received.

7. The Board will select from top 5 choices at the January 30, 2010 Board Meeting by secret ballot. There will be no knowledge of who the submissions are done by.

8. If any committee member submits a logo, they will not be entitled to vote on the logo submissions and will be requested to leave the room during the voting period due to a potential conflict of interest.

9. Any and all logos may be rejected by committee if they are deemed unsuitable (this would be determined by a unanimous vote of present committee members).

10. Chosen Logo to be announced via email, Pride Prince George Facebook Group by January 31, 2010

11. Prince George Pride will use the chosen logo for Pride 2010 & 2011 in any form that they deem necessary. The creator(s) of the chosen logo will have full rights to advertise on their own medium that they created this logo from the time the chosen logo is announced until the conclusion of Prince George Pride 2011. In addition, the creator will be given special recognition during all events and publications.

12. All entries may be kept in Pride archives for reference purposes only, and will not be distributed out in any form after the Board has chosen a logo.

13. Logo creation is open to any resident or business located in Canada.

The prize? A pair of All Access Event Passes to Pride 2010 & 2011!
This includes all lead up events (to be announced).

PLEASE NOTE:
The term “Pride” (used in the context of a Gay, Lesbian Bi-Sexual Transgender, Celebration) is a registered trademark with Fierte Canada Pride, which the Prince George Pride Society is the license holder for the Prince George Pride Celebrations, and thus any logo we chose will be covered by the license agreement.
